The Agreement & What We Provide
These Terms of Service outline the simple rules for using GitCaptain. By signing in with GitHub or connecting your repositories, you agree to these terms. If you are setting up GitCaptain for an organization, you confirm you have permission to do so.
GitCaptain provides repository intelligence: Tree-sitter syntax tree parsing (Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java), interactive dependency maps, code health diagnostics, and automated pull request reviews. We update and refine our tools continuously.
Your Code & Intellectual Property
Your code belongs entirely to you. GitCaptain claims zero ownership, copyright, or licensing rights over your code, repositories, diffs, or review comments.
You grant GitCaptain only the technical permission required to read your files, build syntax trees in memory, and post review comments back to GitHub on your behalf. We do not use your proprietary code to train public models, and we do not share your code with third parties.
Fair & Responsible Use
We ask every developer to use GitCaptain with good faith:
- Do not attempt to disrupt or flood our API servers, worker queues, or webhooks.
- Do not reverse engineer private internal APIs or scrape service endpoints.
- Only connect repositories that you have authorization to analyze.
- Do not submit malicious payloads designed to breach our worker containers.
If an account repeatedly abuses the platform or attempts to compromise security, we reserve the right to suspend or close access.
